To involve levy payers more directly in the investment decision making process, GIA is now managing the nursery levy investment process. Three expert panels, drawn from the nursery sector, consider investment proposals.
The R&D Investment Committee provides strategic investment advice to Hort Innovation about industry research, development and extension programs. This committee is made up of:
R&D Investment Committee Member

The Marketing Investment Committee provides strategic investment advice to Hort Innovation about marketing programs, and comprises:

These two committees form the Investment Advice Panel, and are independently chaired by Cath Botta. Both GIA and Hort Innovation communicate decisions about which investment proposals are supported and how the projects that receive funding are progressing.

The Ideas Committee exists so levy payers can easily submit their ideas for levy-funded research and development (R&D) projects. The Committee assesses and prioritises all project proposals, according to what industry tells us it wants and needs. This helps the Investment Advice Committees work out the best ways to invest levy funds.
The Ideas Committee is made up of:

All submitted ideas will be reviewed and prioritised by the GIA Ideas Committee. Once prioritised, your idea may then be considered by the R&D Levy Investment Committee to determine their suitability for funding through the R&D levy investment funds. These funds are matched dollar for dollar by the Australian government, offering an excellent opportunity to amplify the impact of proposed projects.
We encourage nursery levy payers to submit innovative ideas that could potentially receive funding from the R&D levy investment pool.
