Minor Use Permits Update (October 2025)

Five Minor Use Permits (4 from mid 2024 and 1 in mid 2025) have been approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) for the nursery industry within the last 12 months. Minor Use Permit number PER94253, PER94353, PER94004, PER93970 and PER95487 are now available as described below.
Through the ‘National Biosecurity and Sustainable Plant Production Program’ (NY20001), levy funds and additional contributions from the Australian Government were used to apply for the new/renew Minor Use Permits (MUP).
PER94253 – EFFICON Insecticide (dimpropyridaz). NURSERY STOCK (non-food) - seedlings, tubes, plugs, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing) and ornamentals for the management of cabbage aphid, cotton/melon aphid, green peach aphid, greenhouse whitefly and silverleaf whitefly, whiteflies.
PER94353 – INTERVENE Fungicide (polyoxin-D zinc salt). NURSERY STOCK (non-food) - seedlings, tubes, plugs, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing) and ornamentals for the management of various fungal diseases: alternaria blight/leaf spot, anthracnose, black root rot, botrytis blight/rot, curvularia leaf blight, downy mildew, gummy stem blight, petiole rot, powdery mildew, rhizoctonia aerial blight, rhizoctonia root and crown rot, scab.
PER94004 – SIMODIS PLINAZOLIN TECHNOLOGY Insecticide (isocycloseram). NURSERY STOCK (non-food) - seedlings, tubes, plugs, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing) and ornamentals for the management of diamondback moth, cabbage white butterfly, white butterflies, cucumber moth, two-spotted mites, broad mites; and for the suppression of heliothis, onion thrips, plague thrips, bean red spider mites, Western flower thrips, tomato thrips, melon thrips.
PER93970 – KANEMITE Miticide (acequinocyl). NURSERY STOCK (non-food) - seedlings, tubes, plugs, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing) and ornamentals for the management of two spotted mites in nursery stock.
PER95487 – MIRAVIS PRIME ADEPIDYN Fungicide (fludioxonil + pydiflumetofen). NURSERY STOCK (non-food) - seedlings, tubes, plugs, potted colour, trees, shrubs, foliage plants, palms, grasses, fruiting plants (non-bearing) and ornamentals for the management of alternaria blight, grey mould, powdery mildew and sclerotinia mould.
