Better systems mean more sales, smoother transitions and stronger teams.

$30,000 in extra sales each year. That’s the impact Urban Tree Growers in Gippsland achieved by taking part in the levy-funded Moshie National Lean Leaders Program.

Owner Beth Dunne joined the program to tackle the challenges common to small nurseries — succession planning, role clarity and operational efficiency.

“We wanted practical tools to manage transitions, clarify roles, and improve our processes so we could continue delivering high-quality plants to our clients and maintain a happy, confident team,” Beth said.

The results

  • Operational improvements – streamlined order and inventory processes gave a clearer overview of stock and planning needs.
  • Business outcomes – an average of five extra sales per year, worth around $30,000.
  • Team development – stronger confidence, clearer roles and smoother transitions as long-term staff retired.
  • Strategic focus – an action tracker and sharper business priorities to maintain momentum.

“Without the program, we wouldn’t have had the structure or confidence to tackle succession and process improvement so effectively. It’s given us clarity on where we’re headed as a business and how to support our team along the way.”

Why it matters to you

  • Better systems = less stress and smoother operations
  • Clarity = more confident, engaged teams
  • Stronger processes = better sales and profitability
