Janelle Dahler

Janelle joined GIA in February 2022 as Biosecurity Analyst and is based in Brisbane. She works in document and quality management of the BioSecure HACCP, NIASA and other GIA best management practice accreditation programs, which includes the management of the Australian Plant Production Standard (APPS) website. She contributes to the delivery of project outputs for the National Biosecurity and Sustainable Plant Production Program (NY20001) and provides support to the National Biosecurity Manager and to project Extension Officers.

Janelle has a career background in postharvest horticultural research and horticultural information delivery, having worked for 26 years for the Queensland Department of Primary Industries and Flowers Australia. She also contributed to the development and expansion of the Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland’s Pest Identification Tool, which assists horticultural industries in identifying and treating pest insects, diseases, disorders and weeds.
