By selecting climate-ready plants, growers can optimise resource allocation and build more resilient ecosystems.

Launched in 2022, Which Plant Where shows users which horticultural species will survive and thrive in Australian urban landscapes, not only now but under future climates. It helps people make the right decisions when it comes to plant selection.

Originally only available to paid subscribers, the Which Plant Where online tool is now free! This makes Australia’s first climate-ready plant selection tool accessible to all Australians, increasing its reach and impact.

Which Plant Where provides crucial data to help landscape industry professionals, horticulturalists and arborists in both the public and private sectors develop resilient and sustainable urban green spaces for the future.

The updated tool is a game-changer for growers, as it:

  • features science-based climate modelling
  • boasts a database of 2,500 plants suitable for street trees, landscaping and home gardens across Australia
  • is searchable by location, species and urban space type.

Five-years in the making, this tool can help you improve crop success rates and ensure long-term sustainability.

Which Plant Where was part of a previous project under Horticulture Innovation Australia’s Green Cities co-investment fund.
